Student Ambassadors

Who are student ambassadors?

The Student Ambassadors are a group of Yr11 students who go through an application and interview process and represent the Values and Expectations of Cockburn students.

Ambassadors may put themselves forward to be voted in as Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boys and Deputy Head Girls. They prepared a short film for all students and staff in the school before the students and staff vote for their preferred candidate.

This process takes place like a general election and supports the school’s work to educate students about Modern British Values.

Students work to the code as listed below:

The Code

Student Ambassadors are Cockburn’s principal representatives of our Values and Expectations.

Cockburn looks to the Student Ambassadors to set an example both to other Yr11 students and to other members of the school as a whole. When fulfilling their various roles around the school they should treat younger students in a firm but fair manner. In return, younger students should treat Student Ambassadors with politeness and respect.

Student Ambassadors are be expected to:

  • Meet regularly with the Head of School to discuss and feedback their views
  • Attend school events such as performances, Open Evening, New Intake Evening, etc
  • Be available to meet and greet visitors and conduct tours of the school
  • Play a significant role in Cockburn’s journey “Transformation to Excellence”
