Message from the Head of School

I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our fantastic website which I hope gives you an insight into Cockburn School.

After starting work at Cockburn School in September 1998 as a newly qualified maths teacher it is truly an honour to be able to lead the school as Head since 2017 on its journey of “Transformation to Excellence”.

Our Values and Expectations define us and we demand excellence from staff and students in everything we do. As a result for many years now students leave us making exceptional progress. This is why Cockburn School is one of the most popular and successful schools locally and nationally.

Cockburn School students have access to excellent facilities, resources and hard- working, highly competent staff who always go the extra mile to ensure they are successful and have a world class educational experience.

Our aim is always to ensure that our students leave Cockburn School with core values, skills and knowledge to be successful citizens in the modern world we live in.

Being part of the Cockburn Multi-academy Trust and also the school’s designation as National Support School means we can work with other schools in the community sharing best practice that impacts positively on the lives of children and families in the local area.

The future for all our students and stakeholders is an exciting and challenging one.
